Saffron season at Terre di Giorgio
For once, an early alarm is not about catching a train or starting a working day. It is about stepping outside in the first light to look out over the countryside here at our agriturismo.
The saffron harvest is part of our farming life. In November 2026, however, it will not be offered as a guest experience: Terre di Giorgio experiences are suspended from 1 November 2026 to 25 March 2027 inclusive.
The rhythm of the harvest
Some things cannot be moved around to fit a holiday calendar. The harvest is one of them: it follows the rhythm of the fields and tells part of the story of our daily life on the farm.
You do not need to know anything about saffron beforehand. We simply want to share the pleasure of getting closer to what we grow and taking the time to notice it. Afterwards, our CALUS saffron will mean a little more than a name on a label.
After the early start, time for breakfast
Breakfast is served from 7:30 to 9:30 am. In November 2026, the bar is open from 3 to 7 pm, serving boards of cured meats and cheeses. Breakfast and the bar give you two simple starting points for unhurried days, without filling every hour. These services are available only when the agriturismo is open.
Three days can be just right for this little escape. One morning can start early, another more slowly; during the day, you can take inspiration from our three-day Val d’Orcia guide or stay closer to the agriturismo. Walks and visits can be planned around the weather and what you enjoy most.
Il ristorante sarà chiuso dal 1° novembre 2026 al 25 marzo 2027 compresi e riaprirà venerdì 26 marzo 2027. In questo periodo sono sospese anche le esperienze. Dal 1° novembre l’agriturismo accoglie gli ospiti nelle sei camere, mentre le due suite al piano terra restano chiuse. L’ultimo pernottamento è il 9 gennaio 2027, con partenza il 10. Camere e suite riaprono il 19 marzo 2027; durante la chiusura degli alloggi non sono garantiti servizi.
