Terre di Giorgio began in April 2019, when Alberto and Maja visited Val d’Orcia. What started as a short stay became a life-changing encounter with the landscape, rural culture and a slower, more authentic rhythm of life.

Alberto grew up in Calabria, combining his studies and sport with long days outdoors. Engineering taught him the value of method, research and innovation; working with the land taught him patience, practical judgement and respect for knowledge passed down through generations. Together, these influences shaped Terre di Giorgio: a farm that brings contemporary expertise and tradition together while retaining the human scale of a family-run business.
Today we farm around 120 hectares near Castiglione d’Orcia, within the UNESCO-listed landscape of Val d’Orcia. We manage vineyards, olive groves, arable land, pasture and woodland organically, with a daily commitment to quality, balance and respect for the land.
Our fields produce CALUS and DIANA wines, CALUS organic extra virgin olive oil, grappa, saffron and the ingredients served in our restaurant. The same land welcomes guests to the Villa La Palazzetta farmhouse, where accommodation, dining and landscape become one seamless experience.
The names of our products pay tribute to the Etruscan history of this land. Those names look to the past; our work looks ahead, protecting Val d’Orcia, producing responsibly and giving every visitor a genuine connection with the Tuscan countryside.
Terre di Giorgio is our family project, shared with the people who work alongside us and with Ares, Charlie and Zoe, all inseparable from daily life on the farm.

Welcome to our land.
Alberto and Maja
